Our institute owes its inception to Jagadguru, Sri Sri Sri Dr. Balagangadharanatha Maha Swamiji, who’s generous and unprecedented funding supports our research work Our institute has acquired a wealth of experience over years backed by publications in peer reviewed journals and patents. Our research experience spans from pure nutritional work to sophisticated cloning of cells requiring high degree of skill and knowledge provided by Dr. LEELA SRINIVAS Director of BGS ABCRI. The central theme of our research interest has been oxidative stress, which is now recognized as a possible etiological factor for many diseases and its prevention by dietary factors. The above interest led to the discovery of new water soluble peptide called Turmerin from Turmeric as an antioxidant par excellence which is non toxic. Our work on dietary amelioration continues and research in identifying antioxidants and other disease preventive nutrients and non nutrients from other dietary sources. Experience from a mega food safety project earlier (Rupees 3 crores) has been very useful in providing safe, healthy, disease preventive food.
Our projects are being funded by NIH, USA for the past 10 years. However other important projects have been funded by CSIR. DBT. DST, ICMR, Ministry of food processing,Russell Scientific Institute,Central pollution control board, Animal Welfare Board has helped our research earlier .
At BGS Adichunchanagiri Biotechnology & Cancer Research Institute (BGS-ABCRI), we are focused to achieve national and international recognition for institute’s research programs. The funding of RAPID project by National Cancer Institute of NIH, USA, is a land mark in this direction.

Nutrablaze Biotech a pioneering Biotech venture in Karnataka, India was launched by Sri Sri Sri Dr. Balagangadharanatha Maha Swamiji, President, Adichunchanagiri Shikshana Trust on 28th April 2011 at Bangalore in the August presence of several dignitaries.Nutrablaze has the mission and vision to make available initially Docoso Hexanoic acid - DHA and Omega 3 fatty acid, highly essential for the healthy functioning of central nervous system, brain and retina.DHA will be made available to infants, toddlers, school children, adults, senior citizens, pregnant and lactating mothers at an affordable cost, so that, the health benefits accrues to everyone. This will be followed by other neutraceutical in a manner that, benefits even the lower strata of the society.BGS ABCRI collaborates with Nutrablaze to carry out further research on DHA and other neutraceutical to ensure preventive / curative health care focused on the middle and lower middle class people irrespective of nationality, colour, race, gender or economic viability.
